Hello everyone and happy fall, Halloween, and Thanksgiving! Yes, we have hit that time of year where you may begin to feel the pressure of all the approaching holidays being thrust upon you once again. Well today, I’m giving you a lighthearted approach to what can become the foundation of your fall décor that, once done, can last you right up until your Christmas decorating. (Sorry, hope I didn’t set off hyperventilating at the thought of Christmas being just a few short months away!)
Following are some cute pumpkin decorating ideas that are fun, easy, versatile, and best of all, cost efficient! As you all know, I am a BIG believer in repurposing items so why not apply that to your pumpkin decorating? If you play your cards right, you can decorate once and be covered (with maybe a few minor adjustments) until after Thanksgiving. Read on to see how you can employ some of these ideas or use them for springboards to create your own magnificent holiday decorations!
TIP: Buying your pumpkins closer to the end of October will help ensure that they will make it all the way through Thanksgiving. Also, if you put the pumpkins outside to decorate, keeping them out of the direct sunlight will help them last longer.
After looking through the images of my pumpkin creations, you can see that all of them are easy to change and make them Halloween specific or fall specific. Easy to set up as a centerpiece, to place on your front porch, to remove and/or change bows or remove tape and you will have a whole new look. Plus they were a lot of fun to create. All of my supplies I got from a dollar store or had on hand. (You know by now that I ALWAYS have paint on hand!) Even if you have to buy a couple of cans of spray paint, your cost to create these is very reasonable. These pumpkins can also be a lot of fun to do with your kidlets!
As a final thought, sometimes it’s fun and therapeutic to do a craft project where you get to play around and get as creative as you want. I hope you can find the inner child in you this holiday season and let it all go for an afternoon or evening and make some beautiful and/or scary creations!
Now, what will you do next to love where you live?
