Refinished Furniture Pieces

Lift-Top Bar

I found this piece for four bucks! It was in terrible shape. Scratched and scarred all over. I fell in love with the shape and the hardware and thought it would make a great distressed piece. I gave it a tile top using leftover tile I had on hand and after some light sanding, I used chalk paint and then distressed it. I meant to sell it, but so far it’s still hanging out in our dining room. Such a great piece!

Coffee Bar Conversation Piece

I found this at a local Goodwill and refinished it to sell it online. Teal with white was very trendy a few years ago and so that’s where I went with it. The hardware was original to the piece and just needed some cleaning and a little bronze spray paint.

Large Dresser in Soft Teal & White

This piece was found at a Salvation Army while I was looking for a completely different piece for a client. (This happens a lot!) After some pretty aggressive sanding and a few coats of new stain and paint, she was ready to go and we love having a little vintage in our home.

Vintage Armoire

This dresser was actually a piece that a local vintage shop reached out to me to refinish it. By using the soft teal on the drawers, and distressed white on the body, it gave it a whole “new” vintage look.

Quaint Lingerie Dresser

I found this little beauty in Goodwill. I had never seen anything quite like it and it was in terrific shape. Just some light sanding and then new paint was all it needed to be refreshed and ready to go. Since it was for lingerie, I even found some nice fabric and lined all the drawers with it. After her makeover, this piece sold easily.

Pastel Mult-Drawer Armoire

This piece was a bit challenging. It had some water damage on the bottom of the sides that had to be addressed. Luckily with some good sanding and chalk paint that problem was pretty quickly resolved. I used this piece in my office for a long time and then actually sold it online later on. I think I only paid $25 when I got it. What a deal!

Wood-Grain Secretary

This is definitely one of those pieces where distressing was the only way to really save it and make it usable again. It had a lot of damage on the sides and front but once it was sanded, painted, and distressed, it suddenly had a ton of character! There are all kinds of little hidden compartments and cubbies in it, which definitely added to the charm of it.

Distressed Coffee Table

This sad little piece was sitting in the corner of a thrift shop, covered with dust and green paint! The wood that I found after stripping the top and drawers was gorgeous. White paint on the bottom was all that was needed to finish the piece. I think I paid around $10.00 for it and was able to find someone who wanted to give it a new home.

Small Wine Table

This was my daughter’s dining room table. The original finish was scratched and damaged and so we sanded off the old finish and gave it a new one! The grain turned out so beautiful!

Curbside Find Buffet

I absolutely love how this coffee table turned out. It too had a lot of scratches and damage on the top and sides. I gave it a good sanding to get the old finish off and try to repair some of the damage and then went with a vintage finish on it. I absolutely love how there are four drawers around the sides that open up. Such a cute piece. I was able to sell this one easily.

Dining Table Gift

This piece was literally taken from the curb! Our neighbors no longer wanted it and so they were just giving it away. I found someone who wanted it and refinished it in a look they requested. It is a solid buffet that my client wanted in their dining room. Aside from being so heavy, what a find!
