• “Your home should be much more than just a comfortable, functional space. It should be your favorite spot on earth. The best place to just be you.”

  • “Color is often a source of anxiety, perhaps because we have so many choices. Imagine entering an ice cream shop with hundreds of flavors available (okay, bad example—that sounds amazing). I have a theory that ‘color stress’ isn’t about too many choices. It’s about too many judges. Some people think choosing colors for their home is like taking a test with their score on display for all to see. I help people choose colors with confidence.”

  • “On some level, a relationship exists between you and your home. A well-designed home can be life-giving — capable of making you feel calm, energized, or even inspired. You can create that home, regardless of budget, if you’re willing to explore options, focus and follow through.”

  • “I was inspired growing up in a home where dad’s delight was spending hours in the garage building handmade furniture and crafts, and mom would rearrange the living room every few months as Dean Martin crooned on the stereo. What inspired you?”

  • “The most famous phrase in design is form follows function. Essentially, that means before you decide how a space should look, you should determine how it will be used and by whom.”

    — Michele Schweppe

  • “Let’s demystify style, because having an understanding of basic styles will help you determine your room preferences with confidence.”

  • “Don’t be afraid to make choices from various styles and create your own personal look. If you have style questions or want to share your personal style, please reach out to me.”

  • “While no rules exist for which colors should be used and which shouldn’t, vibrant colors tend to dominate an area, so a little can go a long way.”

    — Michele Schweppe

  • “Painting your walls is one of the quickest, cheapest, most satisfying ways to redesign a room.”

 Urban Condo

While small in size, this condo goes big with substance and style. Pulling in an urban/contemporary style gives this interior the look and feel young professionals will love. In a smaller space, creating multifunctional areas and using all the available space are important. That’s why I created an open concept and placed a desk in a small niche in the dining area. Careful furniture and fixture placement allows each space to be clearly defined.
