Big, Beautiful Homemade Holiday Wreath!
Tick, tick, tick, tick…. can you hear that? It’s your holiday clock quickly moving toward the big day. Are you feeling the decorating crunch? I know there have certainly been years where I did. Between school concerts, work parties, friend’s holiday get-togethers, who has time to decorate their own house?! I know it may seem like that, so this post offers a quick, easy affordable decoration for you to make either for your own home or even as a gift for someone. The beauty of this particular project is that you don’t need to spend much money to do it. Who doesn’t appreciate that at this time of the year?! Okay, no more talking…let’s get our craft on!
2022 Color Trends
Color trends. I have mixed feelings about them. “Trends” can make people feel forced to stay within the box of what’s popular at the time rather than what they like or love. However, today’s blog is all about color trends for the first half of 2022. I do believe looking at trending colors can maybe open up fresh options that lead to inspirational solutions.
In this post, I give you six colors to consider as you work through your 2022 home projects:
HOME: A DEFINITION
With the holidays fast approaching, our thoughts often turn to our home and whether or not things are as good as they can be to welcome our friends and family in. Maybe you have a couple of smaller projects that you have on your to-do list to make that happen. Maybe you feel you don’t have the time or energy to tackle these things before the holidays. Things can get so crazy at this time of year, and if you’re anything like me, your mind might be spinning on how and what to try and accomplish to have you and your home feel “holiday-ready”. Well, my advice is to take a step back, clear your head, and think about what “home” is really all about.
Three Options for Updating Your Kitchen Cabinets
Hi there everyone! Are you in a place where you may be considering a kitchen update? High cost giving you second thoughts or preventing you from taking the first step? Restoration in Blue
When I feel the urge to do a creative project, my car seems to drive itself to the nearest thrift store to look for that perfect little piece with plenty of issues and plenty of potential. To satisfy my recent creative itch I found the perfect piece at the Habitat Restore. I love buying there since they use the profits toward their house-building projects. A win-win! Read on to see how this little lovely turned out!
A Facelift for Your House!
We spend a lot of time working on the inside of our homes, and sometimes the outside goes without the TLC it deserves. Well, this year at my house we decided to elevate exterior painting to the top of our seemingly endless, equally inspiring, and sometimes frustrating home projects list. If you’re contemplating this project, read on for some helpful tips.
Three Easy Ways To Update a Tired Piece of Furniture

Your Home: 5 Minor Changes for Major Impact!
You probably have a room (or two) you would change if it weren’t for two things in your way -- time and money. Ah yes, those pesky culprits that block so many of our plans. As a mere blogger I can’t give you time or money. Okay, I can’t give you time and I won’t give you money…but I will give you five ideas to change that room in a major way with only minor impact to your schedule and bank account.
The Little Dresser that Could…
Do you have a piece of furniture sitting around that’s maybe a little outdated, has some damage, maybe it’s missing hardware, or maybe, just maybe it’s plain old boring and not too attractive? I certainly did. I’ve had an Ikea dresser in our guest room for about three years, and every time I got the room ready for a guest, I thought to myself that I really needed to replace or update it. This blog tells the tale of the little dresser that could.
Patio Remodel or Tear Down That Pergola!
A project that made our 2021 home list was revamping our patio. People tend to prioritize indoor spaces when it comes to makeovers, but if you spend much time outdoors make sure you’re treating your exterior space with the same love.
5 Things that Can Make a Room Feel Claustrophobic
Do you have a room in your home you avoid because it gives you that panic-attacky feeling? Okay, maybe not full-on panic, but how about “Nah, there’s something I don’t like,” and that something is a sense of being cramped?
2021 - IF EVER A YEAR NEEDED REDESIGN
This year will be better than the last. I know, a very low bar to be sure. Despite that, in the spirit of controlling what we can control, let’s put our energy into “redesigning” this year by…
